Seen: Jacob Hashimoto at MOCA

by Dylan Odbert |

This weekend we took a little inspiration trip up to Los Angeles. We have been wanting to check out the Jacob Hashimoto's Gas Giant Exhibit at the Pacific Design Center for quite some time. We paid our $5 donation and walked into the exhibit. Once you pass by the bio wall you are surrounded by thousands of black and white hand made kites that reach all the way up to the ceiling. As you walk up stairs the kites make a cloud like effect, once around the corner you are welcomed by beautifully colored hand painted kites reaching even higher up to the ceiling. You almost want to hold your breath, as if the slightest breath will force the kites into a whirlwind entangling them all together. Hashimoto's choice of color and they way he layered all of kites making endless patterns gave us a much needed breath of fresh air. Now its time to harness that inspiration and wrap up the Spring 2015 collection!. If you are in the Los Angeles area, make sure to swing the MOCA and check out this awe-inspiring exhibit. You don't want to miss out on this!
